My Dreams Lies Shattered: Kalbe Jawwad

It is only three months back that Kalbe Jawad, who is one of the top leaders of Muslim community, dreamt of a political front that would represent all the problems and grievances of the Muslim community. People’s Democratic Front was fallout of this dream. The Front was launched with great fanfare and Kalbe Jawad took upon himself the arduous task of traveling to various cities, meeting the community leaders and inviting them to join the Front.
This political dream lies shattered today! In an exclusive interview with HTE, Kalbe Jawad laments lack of support from other prominent Muslim leaders to be the root cause for this. “My intention was build this front not due to political reasons,” says Kalbe Jawad. “I had hoped that all Muslim leaders would come together for the long-term benefit of the community. Unfortunately, this couldn’t happen. Disunited right at the onset, it was meaningless to carry on.”
It is to be known that Kalbe Jawad is seen by the community in general as their undisputed leader. Maulana has gained this respect due to his tireless efforts to bring the otherwise disunited Muslim community under an umbrella and speak out for problems afflicting the entire community.
“I am not going to make any political party in future nor will I be part of any political front,” said Kalbe Jawad to this correspondent. However, he maintains that he would continue to speak and take stand in the large interest of the Muslim community.
When asked about his support in the forthcoming assembly elections, Kalbe Jawad said categorically that he is not related to any political party. He refuted the allegations that his decision to quit was motivated by an understanding that was reached with Mulayam Singh Yadav. “I will support anybody that agrees to work in the interest of the Muslim community,” says Kalbe Jawad. He said that he had nothing against Mulayam Singh Yadav and if he announces specific plans for the benefit of the Muslim community, he can consider supporting him as well.
